Artificial intelligence, at home with us.

We're testing open‑weights models that run entirely on our own hardware.

Open‑weights models are AI models that their makers make freely available. We run them in our own data centre in Austria – with no connection to the maker and no detour via the internet.

We're testing models from Europe, the USA and China, including Mistral, Llama, Gemma, Qwen, Kimi and DeepSeek, which currently rank among the most capable open models.

Our goal: to be less dependent on the internet and to broaden our base across technology, makers and models. Whatever proves itself becomes part of our toolbox.

AI helps. We're responsible.

For us, artificial intelligence is a tool – with clear rules and a promise.

Where AI reliably takes the load off, we use it: drafting texts, reviewing code, in documentation, weighing up decisions. That way many processes run faster for you – and we pass the cost advantage on.

The rules:

  • A human is always responsible.
  • A human sets the direction, tests and signs off – before anything reaches you.
  • Currently, no AI processes customer data at our company. If we do that in future, then only with models in our own data centre in Austria – and we'll tell you beforehand.
  • We're open about where AI is involved.

Our promise: with us, AI doesn't replace jobs. It takes routine work off our hands so there's more time left for you.

Modern new hardware is now at work in the data centre. For the AI lab, we deliberately took a different route: AI needs an enormous amount of computing power and memory, and those very components are currently more expensive than they've been in a long time.

Because we always keep an eye on costs, we use newer but second‑hand graphics cards and memory there. That was clearly the most efficient way – and along the way, good technology gets a second life instead of gathering dust on a shelf.

More data needs more room for its backups. With a total of 192 TB of new backup capacity, we have plenty of headroom and keep backups for even longer.

Kept cold. Far away. Well protected.

We've extended our offline backup – with an additional, independent site.

We've always had an offline copy of our backups: disconnected from the network and therefore unreachable from it. Now we've extended and reinforced it.

Part of it is also kept at a further site, on its own fully self‑sufficient and disconnected infrastructure. That way the data is clearly separated physically as well. Encrypted, on different media, exclusively in Austria.

Why? Because threats in IT are constantly changing. We keep an eye on them, react quickly, review our decisions regularly – and rethink them when necessary.
